In June 2002 the Board of Directors held a special session at which they established the following goals in priority order:

1. BEAUTIFICATION

-Retain small town charm

-Create a unique identity for the community

-Improved lakes and parks

-Provide for youth activities

2. ESTABLISH A THRIVING BUSINESS CLIMATE

-Include both retail and professional services

-Attract businesses catering to young people

3. IMPROVED AMENITIES INCLUDING SEWER, WATER AND SAFETY

4. CREATION OF TOURIST ATTRACTIONS

To date the DDA has made numerous improvements to the Village of Lincoln. These include paving streets, sidewalks and parking lots, purchase of equipment for maintenance within the Village, purchase of a new fire truck and first responder vehicle, demolition of blighted buildings, supported the restoration of the Lincoln Railroad Depot and construction of the Alcona Humane Society Animal Shelter. The DDA also provides on-going financial support for the Classic and Antique Car Show, the Festival of Lights, and many other projects.
